Should I get my tongue pierced? What are the dangers?

How is it going? I was walking through the mall today and I thought of a good tongue scraper question. Well, here it is. I think you will find it helpful.
I’m 15 and really want to get my tongue pierced, but I’m wondering what some of the dangers are. I herd that your tongue can go paralyzed. What are the chances of that?
Also, if I were to get my tongue pierced, what type of jewelry should I use so that my tongue doesn’t have an allergic reaction? Thanks!
Didn’t you enjoy that? I did. I think I may add my own answer to that tongue scraper question. How about you?
Have a wonderful day!

The danger would be getting infected if you don’t take proper care to clean it. Other than that, it will hurt a bit when you get it done. Be sure that it doesn’t close up, because it’s far more painful than an ear piercing.
Any type of jewlery used on your ear should be acceptable, but try not to play with it in your mouth, it could detach and you might end up with a bit of jewlery in your stomach.

all piercings come with risks and the main one with tongue piercings is that it can get infected easily if you don’t clean it properly and often because of all the food and germs you take in through your mouth. you should use a titanium bar to reduce infection and make sure you have one that’s larger then normal to accomidate for the swelling. i’ve never heard of anyone getting paralysed from it either so don’t worry about that.

Having a toung ring can do some of the following:
Chip your teeth
The barbells can run up against the gums, leading to surgical corrections
You can swallow a loose ball
Infection, which in some cases leads to death, considering your mouth is the dirties part of your body, which can allow bacteria to get into the (open) wound
Lingering pain
Loss of blood
But go for it!
